Editorial Policy
We publish as an editorial desk.
Japan Overclocked is intentionally published without a personal public identity. Articles are credited to the Japan Overclocked Editorial Desk. We do not invent biographies, credentials or firsthand experiences to compensate for that anonymity. Editorial inquiries can be sent to hello@japanoverclocked.com.
We answer the real question.
Japan Overclocked covers the parts of Japan that ordinary travel guides often flatten or avoid. Usefulness comes first: a reader should know what to expect, what can go wrong and what decision to make next.
We separate evidence.
Official information, attributed reports, direct observation, inference and opinion are labeled as different things. We do not describe a visit, purchase or test as ours unless we performed it.
Japanese sources come first.
For Japan-specific systems, stores and culture, we check the Japanese-language source that owns the information. English summaries are useful for finding questions, not for replacing the original evidence.
Corrections and freshness.
Hours, prices, rules and availability change. Articles display publication and verification dates when freshness materially affects the answer. Substantive corrections are made in the article, not hidden.
Mature coverage.
Mature topics can appear in otherwise general travel coverage. Links to age-restricted destinations are labeled before the reader follows them. Explicit imagery is not required to explain adult culture honestly.
